Examples of practical applications of the theories presented can be found throughout the text. This book will be suitable as a text for graduate students of naval, ocean and coastal engineering. It will also serve as a useful reference for research scientists and engineers working in this field.

Lots of hard-to-find information in one compact place.

In the first few chapters, this book provides ample references to foundation work by Phillips and Pierson, and then provides a detailed and robust presentation of a wide variety of different ocean spectra, with comparisons against plots of observed data. Previously I've had to search many different sources to find all of this information, and it's great to have it all in a compact, concise, consistent text.
If this text were digitized, it would be great to somehow have access to the actual measured data, such as that from the JONSWAP program, so that other statistical measures could be made.
