save your money/if it's free life is to short ..you're better off playing in traffic

Spoiler; If I could give this a minus I would; The H used the h as a whore, the h sleeps with a man that she thought was the H while the H taped the whole thing so he could get revenge..the h found out it wasn't the H when the H bust into the room..not before the sex but after....but get this the spineless, no self respect having, low self-esteem cow forgave him and took him back ..why you ask????because the H said he LOVE her..really...I love cake, but if someone told me I could eat a whole one each day for a week and not gain a pound am not going to be like..duh ok I believe you......your head is not only for a hat rack there is suppose to be a brain in there use it.. I love reading always have, I've purchased more then one book by this author's (I tried again because we all can have an off day) but I can honestly say I will not be entertaining any more of this rubbish..

Makes me want to go to Hollywood and find my Oliver!!!

I loved this story.....had so much secrets and past hurts and intrigue that kept me wanting more.

Alice agrees to a contract working for the sexy Oliver. He's a big name in hollywood. And the contract he puts to her is something Noone would turn away. Oliver has secrets of his own and wants revenge for his family from years ago and is willing to use Alice as his pawn. But once Alice figures out his plan and what he's done...can she forgive him and get passed it....read the series to find out!!!

Hot but sick...

I've got to give the author credit for hot scenes. I understand the reviewer giving one star because his actions took away the romance element for me. The content was as advertised so I'm not going to grade down because one part was disturbing.

I know this is not unusual for Hollywood so I expected nasty. But that he went as far as he did was sick. That made the HEA not believable.

Saint Canice befriends a patient stag that allows him to use its antlers as a bookstand, Saint Jerome champions a misunderstood lion, and Saint Brendan is rescued at sea by a great whale. Two women are represented: Saint Hilda saves her fellow sisters from an influx of snakes, and Saint Werburge prevents a flock of greedy geese from gobbling up all of the seeds planted in farmland. The majority of the tales are set in ancient England or Ireland. Written in the conversational style of a storyteller, the selections contain lovely descriptions of the natural settings in which the saints and the animals coexist, but in moments of extreme emotion they tend to be slightly overwritten. Each legend is accompanied by a somber charcoal illustration depicting the saint and the featured animal, framed by a decorative border. Brief biographies appear at the end of the volume. Brother Wolf, Sister Sparrow: Stories about Saints and Animals (Holiday House, 2003), retold by Eric A. There are also stories of Saint Werburge, an English abbess who takes on troublesome geese; Saint Kenneth, a misshapen young man saved by birds; and Saint Hilda, who tames an infestation of snakes. Like many stories of saints, these tales contain elements that are not particularly child-friendly. For instance, the story of Saint Colman turns on the fact that the popular monk is a happy man, but to properly serve the Lord, he must live in isolation. Still, readers drawn to these tales will probably accept their quirks. The tales are neatly told, and the book's effective format--tall, with handsome charcoal artwork--is a pleasure to hold in hand. Allison Pease is Associate Professor of English at John Jay College, CUNY, where she also serves as Chair of the English department. She is author of Modernism, Mass Culture, and the Aesthetics of Obscenity (2000) and has published widely in journals such as Modernism/Modernity, Criticism, The Journal of Gender Studies and Nineteenth-Century Literature. She received her MA and PhD in English Literature from New York University.

"For thousands of years, people have done pretty well without the science of psychotherapy. Yet, something like psychotherapy has always existed-through persons who, with charisma, persuasiveness, and force of conviction, were able to bring comfort to those looking for help. Such help was usually based on a specific philosophy of life.

"The afflicted were promised eternal well-being and justice in the hereafter, their suffering was presented as a test on their way to happiness, or philosophical-ethical images were invoked to make blows of fate bearable. Psychotherapy was religion and vice versa.

"This embeddedness in mysticism made it difficult for psychotherapy to find a scientific approach. Today, if we try to find rational explanations for irrational behavior and offer rational help for irrational psychological problems, we stand on a narrow ridge between two abysses: On the one side lies the danger of reverting to mysticism; on the other, slipping into a mechanized manipulation of the human person.

"Has psychology, on its long development through magic, exorcism, trickery, and fanaticism, finally attained the status of science? In recent decades, great strides have been made in that direction. Successes were conspicuous and resulted in a great variety of tools in a giant psychological workshop to serve people, but unfortunately the specifically human dimension--the spirit--was left out. "Psychotherapy without magic" has been replaced by "psychotherapy without spirit." What was gained in the field of science was lost from humanity. Psychotherapists may choose from a great number of methods, but are forced to walk on that narrow ridge between old views and new perspectives, between speculative interpretations and human programming. It is a path illuminated by alarmingly few firm criteria.

"This book is written for those who trust psychotherapy to find comfort. The trust of patients is valuable but must not be blindly given, or they may be pushed into one of the abysses on either side. They may fall under the spell of speculative [psychoanalytic] hypotheses from which they cannot free themselves, or they may be wrecked by a cold, impersonal [behavioral] conditioning process because they no longer can sense the meanings of their lives.

"The book is also for psychotherapists who walk that narrow ridge, weighed down by responsibility for those who trust them. Few are the guideposts, many the contradictory theories, the confusions, the criticisms. What school are they to believe, what concepts to make their own?

"This book suggests a path for both lay reader and professional, a path through the maze of psychological schools to a psychotherapy that no longer is a myth. To do so, it must include the human spirit, combine science and humanity; in so doing, it can justify our trust, especially the trust of the suffering person. The value of a psychotherapy is tested by what it can do for those who suffer. Where help is no longer possible, comfort must be given; where no comfort is possible, any psychotherapy is useless."

About the Author
Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad is the Senior Assistant Professor in Department of Botany at Sri Pratap College, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He completed his postgraduate education in Botany in 2000 at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, India. After receiving a Doctorate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India, he joined the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, New Delhi, in 2007. His main research area is Stress Physiology and Molecular Biology. He has published more than 35 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and 29 book chapters. He is a recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship and Senior Research Fellowship by CSIR, New Delhi, India. Dr. Parvaiz has been awarded the Young Scientist Award under the Fast Track scheme in 2007 by the Department of Science and Technology, of the Government of India. Dr. Parvaiz is actively engaged in studying the molecular and physio-biochemical responses of different agricultural and horticultural plants under environmental stress.
